SEN-den has helped me so much. Through this group I have met a great group of Mums who I can talk to on so many levels. We discuss things that I find hard talking to others about because we all have a connection – that connection being autism. Before I started going to the group, I didn’t know anyone else who had autistic children, now I have a whole new friendship group. When my son was first diagnosed I would Google places for us to go and to be honest Enfield was seriously lacking any kind of groups where you could go and the kids could play while you can relax in a safe environment and chat with others affected by autism. I’m so grateful to the group founder Lubna who came up with this fantastic idea to bring a well-needed service that parents, families and children with autism could all go. I hope that SEN-den goes from strength to strength. Thankyou Lubna and all the other wonderful people I have met at the group. I am looking forward to seeing you at Friday’s session.DB, mother of a little boy with autism diagnosed in Enfield at age 4 in 2018

I’ve been attending SEN-den groups for a few months now. Sometimes on a Tuesday, sometimes on the weekends. I felt welcome right from the start and my children were accepted for who they are. It makes me really happy to know there is somewhere we can go with no judgement. There is always really useful information from Lubna and the other parents. It is very reassuring to know you are not alone in the challenges you face when raising a child on the spectrum.LE, mother of two children on the spectrum, (one child diagnosed in Barnet and her younger child awaiting diagnosis in Enfield)

” My son was diagnosed in 2017 and I am so appreciative for SEN-den. It is very local to where I live, I can just pop in any time. They are very warm and welcoming and it’s very relaxed. I remember one morning I had a bad time with my son, I was very upset and in tears. But after I went to the group I felt so much better. I was able to get things off my chest, it did help me a lot. I’ve met some lovely people at the sessions and I know that we are all in the same boat. I take my son to the weekend group when I can and I know he enjoys playing with the toys and doing the activities.” NK, mother of a 6 year old boy with autism, diagnosed at age 3 and a half in Enfield

We moved to Enfield in 2018 and we didn’t have any information about where we could find help for our son who was diagnosed with autism in 2017. We found SEN-den on the internet and since then we have had a shoulder to cry on and where we have met other people and we share information with everyone. SEN-den has been there for us during a very hard and long lockdown. We communicate with each other any time we need to and we share experiences that are very difficult to share with others because they can’t understand what we are going through. I can’t thank Lubna enough for setting up this group. I have a little boy who was diagnosed when he was 5 and this group has helped soo much. A lovely group of mums that understand the struggles we face daily. I’ve been to a few groups with Lubna and it’s soo relaxed and welcoming and always a friendly face to listen when you’ve had a very stressful morning/ day. Always a lovely lot of toys for the children to play with. It very reassuring having this local group to know you’re not alone and have lots of support around you with help on the challenges you come across with a child on the spectrum.  I can’t thank Lubna and SEN-den enough for being there for support whenever we need them.  ZL, mother of a 5 year old boy diagnosed in Enfield in 2019

SEN-den has become a part of our day-to-day life. Mothers and families I have met have become close friends to me and my son. I feel SEN-den provides a judgment-free place for my family. My son can play freely, and in his unique way, with the stimulating toys and activities provided. Advice and support provided by the group members have helped forward my diagnosis process and ECHP. I’m grateful for the support SEN-den has provided my little family throughout the last year. I feel more confident thanks to the knowledge I have gained. More relaxed, as I know I have a support group who I can discuss anything with. Practical advice and tips are shared amongst parents and knowing you are not alone. Once again, thank you SEN-den.
